Our proprietary black stainless steel processing technology, Abel Black®, is our philosophy in physical form. While conventional painting or plating methods layer color onto material, we develop an oxide film on the surface of stainless steel with utmost precision, and control light interference to reveal the deep black color that is its namesake technology. In addition to preserving the inherent metallic texture of stainless steel, our technology reinforces and enrichens the potential of its aesthetic expression. We honor the intrinsic qualities of stainless steel, by unveiling the characteristics that reside deep within the material to the surface.

The cover of the box is clad in 0.4mm Abel Black® Stainless Steel Coil, allowing you to examine both its bendability and the precision of laser engraving.
The exterior uses a wet-embossed paper that draws out the material's natural tonal variation — a texture echoing Metabolism-era concrete, and resonating with Abel Black®'s own concept of revealing what already exists within a material.
Abel Black®は、塗装やメッキではなく、ステンレス本来の酸化被膜が光の干渉を利用することで、99％の光を吸収する黒を生み出しています。このSample kit boxは、その黒の多様性を手の中に収めるために設計されています。標準で収納された4枚のサンプル板は、ステンレス表面の状態ごとに光との関係性の違いを示しながら、同一の技術がもたらす表情の幅を確認できる構成としています。また、ボックスの背表紙には0.4mm厚のAbel Black® Stainless Steel Coil を採用し、曲げ加工とレザー刻印による仕様の両方をご確認いただけます。外装には、紙本来の自然な濃淡を引き出すウェットエンボス加工を施した紙を採用しています。これは、素材そのものの可能性を引き出すAbel Black®の技術と共鳴し、メタボリズム期のコンクリートを想起させるテクスチャとして、建材としてのAbel Black®の展開可能性を示しています。
